Experience and Expertise

Clare graduated from NUI Galway with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance and the following year with a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Technological University Dublin (formerly DIT). She joined one of Ireland’s main financial institutions where she worked for a number of years in their commercial restructuring department, during which time she obtained the professional designation Qualified Financial Advisor from UCD and the Institute of Banking Ireland.  She joined O’Connell Brennan as a trainee in 2019 and qualified as a solicitor in 2021.

Clare specialises in personal estate and tax planning and wills and succession, advising individuals and families on asset protection, asset structuring and the transfer of assets by gift or inheritance.  She also specialises in the administration of estates with a particular interest in growing her expertise in estates with cross border issues.  Clare further advises on powers of attorney and general capacity issues.

Clare is currently undertaking the Chartered Tax Adviser qualification with the Irish Tax Institute.
