Experience and Expertise

Tracey studied at the University of Limerick. She trained in McCann FitzGerald, qualifying in 2006 and worked as a solicitor in the Private Client department. Tracey subsequently worked as a Tax Director in the Private Client Services team in Deloitte, and as Partner and Head of the Capital Tax Advisory team in ByrneWallace. Tracey joined O’Connell Brennan in 2022.       

Tracey specialises in advising individuals and their families on personal estate and tax planning, wills and succession, and domestic and international trusts. Tracey advises family business, private companies and individuals in relation to the transition of wealth in a structured tax efficient manner. She also advises on capacity issues and on the establishment of tax efficient trusts for incapacitated individuals. Tracey advises charities and other not-for-profit organisations on formation and governance related tax and legal issues.  She also advises individuals and their families in relation to philanthropic giving.  

Tracey is a member of the Law Society's Probate Administration and Trusts Committee, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Committee (STEP) and a member of the Law Society's Taxation Committee.  Tracey has lectured extensively on succession planning, trusts and capital taxes with the Irish Taxation Institute, STEP and the Law Society of Ireland.  Tracey is a former lecturer in Capital Taxes on the Professional Course of the Irish Taxation Institute.  

Tracey is also an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute, a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).
